I know it seems a little funny to share my thoughts on a water bottle, but if you don’t want to buy another new one in a month — maybe even a week — it’s worth doing some research. That’s exactly what I was thinking about when I put together this Hydrojug review anyways.
Now, you’ve already heard some of my thoughts regarding the Hydrojug and how it compares to the Stanley (which seems to be the go-to at the moment). But I wanted to spend a bit more time sharing about Hydrojug.
For those of you who don’t know, the Hydrojug is a water bottle created by a team dedicated to hydration (it’s literally what’s on their website; they’re “all about hydration”) and seeing the style and shape — and the sheer amount of water held — of some of their designs, it makes sense.
Hydrojug was officially launched in 2016 and initially had only three colors: white, black, and clear. Now, it seems to have limitless colors and designs and can be found in major retail stores like Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
Currently, they have multiple bottle sizes ranging from 20 oz – 73 oz bottles. Bottles come in different materials and styles, including glass, stainless steel, and a shatterproof material (mainly for their Pro Jug V2).
Okay, yes, technically, it’s just another water bottle, and there are thousands of water bottles out there. But Hydrojug interested me because of its dedication to hydration (I love a good practical purchase) and its values, such as its dedication to stopping the waste of plastic water bottles.
The practicality is really what stood out to me while using my Hydrojug, but I will also be the first to admit that I mainly use it when hydration is key — like on beach trips, gym days, and other similar activities.
I love that my Hydrojug (a 73-oz) is made for serious hydration. I don’t have to refill my water bottle every hour to hit my hydration goals. And, even with such a large bottle, it’s still comfortable to hold — with or without using the handle.
I also appreciate how it holds me more accountable. Thanks to its size, it’s easy to track your water intake!
But, I will say that it’s a bit bulky and may not be ideal if you have a smaller bag or limited space (this can be solved by opting for a smaller Hydrojug).
Surprise! Yes, I do recommend the Hydrojug. I also recommend picking a size that fits your needs and use. Don’t buy a 73-oz if you’re never going to carry it around, but also don’t buy the 20-oz if you know you’ll have to constantly head to the kitchen for water refills.
