Did you know that I wasn’t originally a Life Coach? Nope. I was a wedding planner who eventually owned — and closed — a six-figure wedding planning company and venue location. But, at some point, I was called to do something else, and that ‘something else’ was coaching.
So, how did I become a Mindset Coach? Honestly, it started with embracing a new season of life with an intentional mindset and a desire to help others do the same. I was watching (and experiencing myself) how burnt out someone could be and how ingrained in their business they could become.
I wanted to help business owners separate themselves from their businesses, regain their identities, and be more intentional and aware in their journey to happiness. Becoming a Life and Mindset Coach ticked all the boxes!

I’m a certified Mindset Coach, and that’s what I want to focus on today (even though I’m also a life coach). There’s not much of a difference, but there is a slight one, and I don’t want any confusion while we break this down!
To clarify, a Mindset Coach is someone who works with you to change your thinking, challenge your beliefs, build new cognitive skills, and create better outcomes for your personal or professional goals.
Mindset Coaches do this by providing you with guidance and exercises to help you build a more productive and positive mindset.
Let’s get to the real reason you’re here — you’re wondering how to become a Mindset Coach. This is great, by the way. I love that you’re working on self-improvement and want a better way to serve others (like I did). But, before you work with anyone, remember to embody the traits before you coach ANYONE else.
Now that we’ve covered that let me introduce you to my secret ingredient: Yes Supply.
Although I knew I had the natural gifts and skills to be a great coach, I wanted to make sure I was showing up for my clients in the best way possible and showing them how seriously I took my role in their lives.
The Yes Supply Method is a proven life coaching certification program that teaches you a life coaching system to provide you with a trauma-sensitive, evidence-based, and inclusive approach to transformation (I did a full review of the Yes Supply Method here if you’re interested).
But before you think it was all about coaching, I want to share that it was so much more than that (like, insanely more). Yes Supply helped me have a better understanding of myself and improve myself AND my work.
It’s like a mini-psychology degree and is great for yourself, even if you never actually coach anyone.
I know it sounds simple, like “take a course and be a coach,” but that’s not the whole story. You should have the inclination to help others and the willingness to work with someone and do your best for them.
You should be ready to dedicate yourself, your time, and your energy — while still respecting your own boundaries, of course — to helping another person, which is not for everyone.
Yes, Supply is just one way to help you grow and achieve your goals; the foundation is all you! Plus, the course is approved by the International Coaching Federation for 40 CCE hours, which can be applied to your application!
