Maliquea Starnes, Business Strategist and Coach shares insight on implementing systems for a more intentional business.
In this episode we discuss three major tools to better help you grow your business with intention as an entrepreneur. Sometimes we take on too much and start to second guess our worth. Simply knowing what is working for your systems and letting go of what is not working for you can be that next step you have been looking to take.
By separating yourself from your business and taking a step back to understand you are two separate things, you do more for yourself which in return works harder for your business.
We discuss..
The intention in your systems and why they are important
Making your business a well-oiled machine, without burning out.
Why you need to prioritize rest and set boundaries.
The importance of automation and delegation.
and more!
Here are some highlights…
Why it’s Important Separate Yourself from Your Business
“When we start to see ourselves as our business, we have less and less grace. Because guess what, businesses, working the 9 to 5? There is not a lot of room for grace, we have a delivery that we have to put out there. And so, if you’re going to be an entrepreneur, you’re going to have to take a step back and say listen, I am going to have to create some boundaries for myself that are going to give me permission to separate myself in this moment from this deliverable or this project or this task. And I am going to prioritize taking care of myself.”
The Need for Routines
“Every single thing that you do, believe it or not, has a system in place. The way that you wake up in the morning, you can call it a morning routine if you want to, but it truly is the system and the process that you have in place for how you start your day. Maybe when a friend reaches out to you and they want to schedule a time to meet up and have coffee, you may not think you have a system in place for that but everyone does.”
Intention + Systems
“When we use intentionality to build systems and processes for our business, that allows us to slow down long enough to determine what works best for us without having to make some of those really hard learned mistakes. You don’t want to forget to email a client back or completely miss out on a lead in order for you to realize that it’s time for you to get a better lead system in place.
That is often what happens to us as entrepreneurs. It’s almost like you have to get all the way to that part to where you’re like, gosh, I really suck at managing leads. You don’t have to get to that part where you’re starting to feel bad about yourself, your identity and who you are before you decide that this can be better.”
